SUBCRIPTIONS FOR THE FIRST OPEN EVENING CLOSE AT 13:00 ON TUESDAY!
On the first week of the academic year, there is an open evening at Walhalla on Wednesday. If you’re interested in playing tennis or are just looking for some fun and meeting new people, you should come to our open evening!
This evening, we will play some tennis and you’ll get to feel the atmosphere of Walhalla and the bar. Because of COVID-19, the amount of people that can come to the open evening is restricted, therefore we are asking you to sign up in advance so we can regulate this. After signing up, you will get assigned to a time slot in which you can come to the Walhalla courts (so not the blue ones of the Bongerd), at the clubhouse behind the sport halls. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an experienced player, we will keep this in mind when dividing you into groups.
The open evening is there to show you our association and to answer all your questions. Signing up for the open evening does not mean that you sign up as a member (but we hope you will do so afterwards ofcourse!).

Wageningen Open will go on! It will take place from 7-20 September and it will be the first tournament of the year on our courts. As you might have seen, the tournament covers two weeks so there is more space to play and to have foreclosures. In singles you will be placed in a specific category based on your actual rating. In doubles you can choose a category yourselves. A maximum of two categories is allowed. Because of COVID-19, the experience of the tournament might be different than the previous years, but we will make something great out of it. On the 16th of September, the General Members Meeting will take place. Here, the board change will happen and plans about the upcoming year will be discussed. The meeting takes place on Zoom, so you don’t even have to leave your own house to attend! Get a few drinks and snacks, and welcome the new board of Walhalla 🙂

This evening, the traditional First Years Tournament will be held. Every new member of Walhalla can sign up for this tournament. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people to play tennis with (or to have some drinks with ofcourse). Your partner will be another new member of the same level you have, and together you compete against other couples!

Wat meer Accie nodig in deze saaie lockdown? De Accie organiseert op woensdag 28 oktober vanaf 20:30 de online Borrel Battle Quiz! Doe samen met je tennismaatjes of huisgenootjes mee met de pubquiz. Van te voren zullen wij een boodschappenlijstje delen, dé ingrediënten voor een top avond, zodat wij met zijn allen toch nog een beetje samen zijn. Drink en quiz online met ons mee, en wie weet wint jouw team wel het Corona survival pakket.
Do you need some more action in this boring lockdown? AcCie organises an online Borrel Battle Quiz on wednesday the 28th of october at 20:30! Together with your tennismates or roomies you can join our pubquiz. Before the pubquiz you will receive a grocerylist which allows you to buy particular beers and snacks, the ingredients for a great night, so we can still feel like we are all together. Drink and quiz online with us, and maybe your team will be the winner of the Corona survivalkit.

The EJC organizes an online bingo with a twist on Wednesday the 25th of November at 20:30! Together with a team you will try to be the first with a full bingo card. The bingo will consist of different rounds, so make sure to grab some drinks and snacks to get trough this exciting evening! As icing on the cake, there will be some nice prizes to win in each round, so don’t hesitate and subscribe for this activity.

After the great success of the Pubquiz, the Accie is organizing another online activity!! This time you can sign up for Crazy 69, a fun game in which you and your team have to fulfill assignments to gain as many points as possible and get a chance to be the winning team!!
For this activity you can team up with your tennis friends, housemates or we can form a team for you, so you get to know new people from Walhalla!
The online Crazy 69 will take place on the evening of the 13nd of Januari and starts at 20:30.

We like to announce that on the 17th of March the half year general members meeting will take place at around 20:00.
The boardmembers will give an update on the developments in the association, give their opinion about their functioning and what the plans of the coming half year will be. Also they will reflect back on last half a year, taking into account the opinions of members and committees. Also the financial part will be discussed.
