To keep the association running smoothly, there is a board consisting of 5 people that are chosen yearly. The board is made up of a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Commissioner of Technical Affairs and a Commissioner of General Affairs. At the beginning of each academic year a new board is chosen and elected in a General Members Meeting. Want to know who are currently in the board? We’ll let them introduce themselves:
Your Board: Fritura Bestura, proudly the 84th Board of G.T.C. Walhalla.
Introducing our Chair Benjamin, better known as Benji! He always brings A LOT of gezelligheid with him, whether he was often found behind the bar last year serving drinks, with a microphone in his hand on the fields during the WIP, or at the courts showing how tennis is done… You might never spot him without a drink in his hand, or a racket of course. With all his enthusiasm and dedication: what would we have to do without him? With Benji a fun conversation will always start, and a lot of laughter will follow. Make sure to have a little chat when you see him around, and feel free to talk about anything that has to do with our association.
Always on Benji’s right hand, there is our Secretary, Geert! He is the most punctual and organised person of us all, so all the minutes and agendas will be in good hands, and as you see, our clothes will be perfect. But don’t worry, at the Toko you won’t find Geert with his laptop, you’ll surely see him on the courts, as he and his team are trying to grow in the competition. And if you’re lucky, when the third half of the game has started, you’ll see him behind the frituur (deep-frying), because what would we, as the Fritura Bestura, be without his snacks.
The fourth person in the picture is the one and only Treasurer: Maarten. With him, we added an amazing reliable, spontaneous, and humorous factor to the board. Known for his direct but hilarious sense of humour, there’s never a dull moment with Maarten around. Even though he looks in his element in his smart suit, you will also find him often in sports clothing, if it’s on the courts, on his bike, running, or swimming… This sports association’s budget sure is in the best hands!
Next up, on the left, our Commissioner of General Affairs, Maud! Also known for her smile, social skills, and delicious meals at the Kooko. Maud has a heart of gold, turns her enthusiasm into new ideas for the association, and gives people the opportunity to be at their best and feel seen. Always in for trying new meals, and afterwards stays till late at the Toko, because who could leave such fun people. We’re absolutely delighted that, with her passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to the association, Maud is part of the Board.
Last but certainly not least is our Commissioner of Technical Affairs: Lise. Always full of good energy and definitely our fashion icon. Lise will not only make sure everyone gets to develop their tennis skills but also make it fun! We’re very excited to see her fill in her role. What would we be without having places to train, fields to play on, and a bunch of rackets to let new Open Evening visitors play with? If you see our lovely Lise around the Toko, you definitely won’t leave without laughing.
